Stornorrfors
Stornorrfors hydropower plant, which is operated by Vattenfall, is located by the Ume Älv River in Västerbotten County, Northern Sweden. It is Sweden’s second largest hydropower plant and generates the most electricity of all hydropower plant in Sweden. It is equipped with four Francis turbines with a total capacity of 599 MW.
Stornorrfors has one of Europe’s longest fish ladders (300 metres long) and it has been a site for many studies of fish migration including both numerical and experimental investigations.
